Benny Brown (trumpet)

Benny Brown was born 1983 in Münster, NRW, Germany. At the age of 6 he began playing the piano. With 16 he started to learn how to play the trumpet. Achim Böder, principal trumpet for the Münster Symphony Orchestra, was his teacher. 4 years later Benny was playing the 1st trumpet chair in the German Air-Force Band. Beside that he played lead in the Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW and one year later also in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO). From 2004 till now he’s studying jazz and classical trumpet in Hamburg with Ingolf Burkhardt (NDR Big Band), Lennart Axelsson (Lead tp NDR Big Band) and Eckhardt Schmidt (Opera Hamburg). Right now Benny plays with the “Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra”, “European Movement Jazz Orchestra”, “Moritz Sembritzki Band”, “Stefan Schultze Large Ensemble”, “International Big Band”, “Matthias Schriefl Big Band” and his own band and does lots of subbing for all kinds of bands 😉 Benny played and recorded so far with: NDR Big Band, Sunday Night Orchestra, Tom Gäbel Big Band, Jazzorchester Regensburg, DSDS-Band, Tobias Kremer Big Band, Staatsoper Hannover, Joe Gallardo’s Latino Blue, Nils Landgren, Peter Herbolzheimer, Till Brönner, BuJazzO, Bill Dobbins, Ed Partyka, Wolf Kerschek, Ron Williams, Dog Eat Dog, Tommy Schneller, Dr. Ring Ding and many others…
