Jörn Marcussen Wulff (trombone)

Jörn Marcussen-Wulff (born in 1981 in Kiel/Northern Germany) is working as a trombonist, composer and educator, currently based in hanover, germany.
He studied jazztrombone in hanover and lucerne (switzerland) with Ed Kröger and Nils Wogram and is now working as a docent for bigband, trombone and methods at the university for music, drama and media in hanover.
He was a member of the “Landesjugendjazzorchester Schleswig-Holstein” (2001-2006) and the “Bundesjugendjazzorchester” (Bujazzo) with Peter Herbolzheimer (2004-2006).
He is leading his own trio „Jörn Marcussen-Wulff’s authorities“ (Philipp Gropper-sax, Ingo Lahme-btrb,tuba) and the bigband „Fette Hupe Hannover“. With his working band „JMW quintet“ he released his first album „Morphing“ in 2009 on konnex records.
As a Freelance musician he had the opportunity to play and record with Roger Ingram, Barry Guy, Peter Evans, Evan Parker, Maria Schneider, Matthias Schubert, Nils Wogram, the NDR Bigband conducted by Steve Gray and many others…
He played on different international jazzfestivals (Jazzfestival Schaffhausen, Jazzfestival Zürich, Jazzfest Ljubliana, Jazzbaltica, Jazzfestival Coimbra, Cairo Jazzfestival, …) and is also working as a composer for bigband (HR-Bigband, HMT Bigband, Fette Hupe Hannover and others), acappella-choirs and his own ensembles.
